When two juggernauts of art come together, the result is a whack-load of dead muses, slain by the sheer force of the immediate, unfettered genius. Thus art did quake when Alex Row returned from Italy and I spoke with him about completing the final 9 pages of the Sword and the Fish comic. It is a go, for sure. Some pages may already be done. Big conclusion imminent! I truly apologize for not getting the sample pages up. Dreamweaver is being picky and it has brought on luddite tendancies in me. But that just means more SatF will be brand new. Next time I will post some Sword and the Fish inspired creations I have made using Spore.

    May 19th, 2009 - Mambo Italiana

When news occurs in SwordandtheFishville it's like an avanlanche of grizzly bears hell from the mountains and landed on a giant gong. I mean big. Not that this is one of those days, mind you, a month since EATMORE bars whet my palette, but I wasn't sure you quite comprehended the amount of grizzly bear reverberations that went into each news post. I don't think it's somwhere in the site map. Anyway, some people say, "No news is good news," but they are the same people who sit and wait for God to do something at their beck and call. In my case, it's not the best news because it means nothing is getting done. Now, I could go and make everyone another sample image that looks amazing from one of Alex's completed pages, but completion is so near I can taste it. And once there, such images will be paltry. Mr. Row is in Italy right now, having tea with the TMNT, but I have been assured the final 9 pages of art are priority #1 upon return. For me, I require a few touch ups before I can finish lettering a few of the spottier pages requiring touch-ups. Thus I am optimistic and in limbo like Kid A. I amuse myself by writing for the video game review website www.controllerpunch.com, which is a sweet new site for all things gamer. So enjoy it in the meantime, and after these messages The Sword and the Fish will be riiiiight back. The deaths of some grizzlies may be involved at said time.

April 7th, 2009 - Eat More EATMORE Bars

For some reason I can't quoting a random civilian found somewhere in The Sword and the Fish game who says, "If I were you, I'd eat more EATMORE bars." I mean, it really truly is a genius line. It doesn't work with any other types of bar snack. "If I were you, I'd gan ola granola bars," is its rough equivalent, and by rough, I mean a bald guy's head at the micro level. Also - who ate those things? Nobody. What you SHOULD eat up however, while the comic is being produced, is the Sword and the Fish video game because it is just plain down-to-earth fun.

    March 23rd, 2009 - New Pic / Hoopla

That Smitguard virus back in September? That was nothing. My power source died a few weeks ago and when I bought a new one it fried my entire hard drive. And two other hard drives. If not for co-creator Tyler's valiant birthday gift of a 500GB portable hard drive, the comic would be in tatters. Thankfully, most survived, and after an intensive 10 days my computer is back to normal. DON'T DO IT AGAIN! Now that the unit has been "told" I am sure to expect the non-Jon-Candy version of cool runnings. I have almost repaired the pages of lettering I have lost and we have less than 10 pages left to draw, but I'm so on the ball it's an oval. To celebrate a sort of return to form I am posting a picture for your viewing pleasure. Or your listening pleasure, I don't know what you do with pictures, knock yourself out. Just know that since it is a picture it can be enjoyed but fleetingly on 4/5ths of your sensoral array.

February 25th, 2009 - Now T'is the Fish of Our Discontent

Okay. So. I haven't updated the site since November. I'll have you know that the samples page was having major open-heart surgery and I am just not cruel-hearted enough to leave that bedside. Oddly enough, I am cruel-hearted enough to leave it in the hands of Tom Lavery. Having fixed the samples page, the first three black & white pages of "The Sword and the Fish: Oops" are up and viewable. They truly trump the birth of humanity in scope and granduer.

Meanwhile, a good friend of mine Mike Beatty fully completely completed The Sword and the Fish game. Yes, I'm talking all 7 demons, I'm talking all possible *ULT* items, and I'm talking level 45. And he was playing version 1.5! Of course he immediately downloaded 2.2 without wasting a breath, like all good satfies would. Anyway, congratulations to him. I will sacrifice 20 Ass-Goblins in his honor.

That's all the updates for now, except I would like to announce that the Character Bios section, previously hideous and unenviable, will soon have a face lift into a neat little online booklet describing all the details you've been aching to know about the lives of the reborn SatF characters for the comic universe. Unlike the Character Bios in the games section, this will focus truly on the nature of the written character. There will also be chocolate!

    Delicious!
