  • August 28th, 2008 - Why so Serious?

Added the comic credits section, with pics of both myself and Alex's vision of himself as The Joker. Having nothing to do on the comic front, besides wait for Alex to churn out the pages, has me feeling a bit like a maniac myself. The latest I've heard is 11 pages of 40, but by now it's got to be up to 16 or 17. It better, September looms and promises to be frantic. I've just got to hope that everything can be wrapped up fairly quickly. I can put in the work, but some things take a long time regardless of your dedication. Like fishing for narwhals. I mean with rods and lures. That's going to take a while. About as long as I take to post? Hopefully not. Seriously, though, I've had nothing to report but pages I haven't seen being completed elsewhere. I blame narwhal.

  • August 13th, 2008 - It's a Pinch

Well, everything's coming down to the wire. If I was smart I'd cut a loose wire towards freedom, to use Clifford-speak. Alex has completed the 4-page intro in detailed inks. I saw the first three and they looked fab. Problem is we really need to pick it up if we want to get done in time to apply for the Xeric.

Now, add to this the fact that I'm set to pitch Sword and the Fish as a TV show come September - and need a copy of the comic pilot to do so - and only Lt. Time will tell if things are going to work out. September is going to be the month of the Fish, that's for sure. Hm. Maybe I should check that out on the Chinese calendar or something. In the meantime, I'll bug AR for the 1st four so we can start the excitement-party over in the "Sample Pages" section.

  • July 31st, 2008 - A Scumdrop Legend Digest

With the final draft underway, we've decided on the pages we'll be using for our sample. Pages #1-4! Yes, that's right, the humble beginnings of heroism as summarized by a legend of Scumdrop. I expect it to look awesome. Coming soon!

  • July 24th, 2008 - Zombie Caesar

News character sketches are in. There's a few under Character Art, but that will be updated properly once Hexehabulous and a final Gwar are submitted. As of now, however, feel free to bask in the glow that is the Baddies section - featuring sketches for both the standard SatF 'Slug' (in Centurion form) and also the massive Huge Slug miniboss. They look great! With only a bit left to do, the final task is almost at hand...

  • July 16th, 2008 - Out of my Hands

Today I visited with the comic's artist Alex Row and handed over the final storyboard and close-to-final draft of the script. They are out of my hands and into more capable ones. Alex has 2 months to draw a 40-page comic, meaning 20 pages a month, 5 pages a week. But while the first issue isn't expected to drop until October, you can look forward to 5 new character art sketches to be completed before the final copy of the comic begins. I'll keep you posted.

  • July 10th, 2008 - Ugly Phoenix

Like an ugly phoenix rising from a pile of slime, The Sword and the Fish is online! While the site is still but a mewling babe suckling at the teet of the information superhighway, please enjoy the carnal delights found on this site. All information on 2007's downloadable Sword and the Fish video game can be found in the menu, as well as details about a new The Sword and the Fish comic currently in production. Snoop around, and be sure to download the game if you are yet to experience its sensual 24-bit loving. Delicious!
