  Our story begins in Mud Haven with a troubled boy in a troubled world on the brink of trouble. Not unlike you, perhaps, he wakes up one morning thinking all is as it seems. And it is. But it won't be soon. For you see, Clifford J. Spartacus is the one destined to "try" and fight Gwar, demonlord of the deep. Daunting, at best - especially since his life's ambition is to endure small town boredom and be in a bad local rock band. Thrust onto the path of his ancestors (a path dubiously set by Scumdrop, Clifford's legendary hero-supernova of a distant relation), our apparent hero stumbles upon a colossal weapon know simply as 'The Sword.' But the burden of heroism is truly the 20-ton jaguar of the mind, and Clifford will need his bandmates if he wants to escape Mud Haven with more than just a fledgling singing career. How will he fare? What is to become of The Sword? Who's that creepy demon in the mirror? The Sword and the Fish leaps into action like a tank on springs in "Oops," issue #1 of The Sword and the Fish comic.
